Center for Family Relations—San Antonio Kids Exchange
The Kids Exchange is a non-profit organization founded in 1996 by Mary
Bullock, Executive Director, to assist children whose parents are
experiencing difficulties with divorce or separation. The Kids
Exchange facilitates the transfer of children from one parent to the
other without the parents having to meet face-to-face. In addition,
the Exchange assists families with monitored and structured visits
within restricted settings under the supervision of a licensed social
worker.
The organization had been leasing a facility since August of 1997. In
2003, the decision was made to purchase and renovate an old house in
the Monte Vista area and move to the improved facilities.
The Community Development Loan Fund, Inc. together with Broadway
National Bank financed the purchase and renovation of the building.
The loan from the Community Development Loan Fund contributed to the
down payment required by the bank. By taking a second lien on the
property, the Community Development Loan Fund made this transaction
possible for this organization, which is so important to the San
Antonio community.
